These sessions are designed to provide updates and opportunities for dialogue among department chairs. Most sessions are available for all department chairs, however, some are specifically for new department chairs only (as designated under those titles).

September 3, 2025 2:00 - 3:30 | Department Chairs: Introduction to eTRACS and Proposal Reviews | This session will guide approvers (chairs, delegates) on using the university’s InfoEd platform “eTRACS” for proposal and award information. The first part of the session will be simple navigation and how to use the search function. The second part will be focused on the content of an eTRACS file, and best practices for proposal submission review. There will be time designated at the end for questions. In this session faculty will receive a tutorial on the technical aspects of submitting the packet in Faculty180. Following the tutorial will be a time for Q&A. In this session unit administrators will also learn how to assist faculty in reviewing draft materials and how to move the packet to the committee after the deadline. October 21, 2025 12:00 - 2:00 Hybrid - MCSC Location TBD | Reappointment, Promotion, & Tenure Workshop | Department Chairs are encouraged to attend the first part of this two-part workshop when participants will hear an overview of campus policies and procedures related to promotion and tenure as well as tips and updates for developing a Personnel Action Dossier (PAD). After this general session, break-out rooms will, be available for participants to hear tips and advice from faculty who have recently earned tenure and promotion to full professor. Chairs may choose to leave the session before this segment of the workshop, but attending the first part will help to ensure you are hearing the same information being shared with faculty about these important processes.
